I have a Performa 600 CDROM with 20MB of Ram. I am trying to use a Hypercard driven program called "ibis" - a medical reference tool, and it takes forever (over 2 minutes) for Hypercard to load and once "ibis" is loaded, it takes a very long time to move around the stacks. Do you have any idea what I can do to speed things up?
Thanks,
Ned

Ned,
HyperCard works much faster in black and white than in color. Also, have you allocated a lot of memory to HyperCard by using "Get Info" on it in the Finder?

Thanks for the reply. (Yes, I allocated about 5MB for Hypercard - and it still creeped along!) I stumbled across the problem. Too many fonts. Apparently, Hypercard loads all the system fonts as it opens. I have over 150 fonts loaded. So, I bought Suitcase by Fifth Generation and solved my problems. If anyone else has a slow moving Hypercard, it's probably the font problem.
